Gastronomy in the spotlight

Situated between the Lot, Dordogne and Corrèze regions, Brive is a prime location for showcasing local produce from the Gascony region: walnuts, apples, veal... all good things that locals and tourists love to discover or rediscover. These events include

  • The "foires grasses" (fat fairs ) held from December to March in the Georges Brassens hall, attracting customers who love high-quality produce every year.
  • The Festival de l'élevage: du bien élever au bien manger in Brive also attracts large numbers of visitors every year. Scheduled for the last weekend in August and free of charge, this event is an opportunity to meet passionate livestock farmers. Poultry, goats, cattle and sheep take up residence in the Parc de la Guierle in the heart of the city for 2 days.
  • Local markets: Brive's market, made famous by the Brassens song, is the only one we can mention... but don't forget the local farmers' markets held on summer evenings!
